- Our mission is to make education more joyful and meaningful. We teach coding, math and custom STEM courses to kids aged 8 to 16, and build the tools to support teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences.
- Weβre a remote-first company with teachers and employees from South Africa, Singapore, India, the USA, and the Philippines.
- Weβre a well-funded startup backed by YCombinator and early investors of Spotify and Facebook.
Role | Teaching IB and Olympiad math online
Many students find advanced math intimidating, and even strong students can hit a wall when IB exams or olympiad problems ask them to think in unfamiliar ways. The right teacher can turn that pressure into confidence and genuine curiosity.
You will have the opportunity to help students who want to go further in math, mastering the IB curriculum and taking on olympiad-level problem solving, while making the process joyful rather than stressful.
Some more details
- Teach students math over Google Meet/Zoom, from age 8 up to grade 12.
- Students in this role typically fall into two groups:
- IB Mathematics (MYP and DP, including Analysis & Approaches and Applications & Interpretation at SL and HL)
- Math olympiad and competition preparation (e.g. SASMO, SMO, AMC, Math Kangaroo and national olympiads)
- As a teacher, your role will be to guide students to understand the WHY behind math concepts and build strong problem-solving strategies, in a way that they can proudly say "I did this myself" or "we did this together". This will require a lot of patience, empathy, and the skill of coaching. You'll be problem solving and learning together along the way, and often our teachers learn a lot from their students.
